Elvis

A few weeks ago George and I were treasure-hunting in one of our favorite thrift stores. As we were getting ready to head to ward the door I saw someone come in who had to be an off-duty Elvis impersonator.

Hey, is that Dale? I asked George. I think it is. See, we kind-of know an Elvis. He's the boyfriend of a friend of ours. He even performed an impromptu set when George's band played for an animal fundraiser.

I strode over to Elvis and said, "Hey! Are you Dale?"

Surprised, he said, "Uh, no, I'm Bill."

I said, "Oh, I'm sorry. You look just like a friend of mine, Dale, who does Elvis impersonations."

Elvis reached into his pocket to pull out his wallet, and from that, a shiny, party-themed business card, which he handed to me.

He gave me the 30 second spiel about how he was available for parties, weddings, etc.

Incredulous and slightly embarrassed, I said,

"That's wierd, you look just like him."

Amazon Prime Perks

I worked taking photos of guitars today. I found a good video on neuroplasticity. I discovered that my accidental subscriprion to Amazon Prime also got me free movies and videos.

After the video on Neuroplasticity I checked out the music and started a playlist. I couldn't believe my luck There are "Rockababy" lullabies of hard rock albums!

I started with AC/DC. I think Hells Bells had to be my favorite, but there were so many good ones! Then I ran down the list: Aerosmith, Metalica, Zeppelin, QUEEN!. Elton John, and more, all translated into the soothing, delightful tinkling of a music box.

I was a little disappointed that Enter the Sandman didn't really grab me - the irony is epic - but it was ok.

Too bad I didn't find these when the girls were little, but I have a feeling I'll enjoy them myself. What a great idea. Frickin hilarious.
